Tutoring Resource

The Educated Math Tutor exists as a resource for students, parents, and tutors who need easy access to available mathematics information. Most of the materials are of interest to mathematics students at the high school level, but younger students will also find relevant items. I plan to update information monthly, so check back frequently.

Use the menu items on the left sidebar to navigate through the site. The website identifies materials that I have created during earlier tutoring work, as well as external links to an array of other materials. In these locations you will find worksheets, review sheets, videos, tutorials, and other useful data in the areas of algebra (I & II), geometry, precalculus, calculus, and statistics. In addition, two web pages include preparation materials for the SAT/PSAT and ACT college entry tests.

The website also explores learning styles and issues with learning, as well as general tutoring information. Many students/parents are interested in how students can best work in the classroom. These materials are samples of the many articles that aid in self-awareness and special ways that students learn. To support that self-understanding I have included links to articles on selecting tutors, plus links to lists of available tutors in the general Montgomery County Maryland area. Note: other information on the site is generally not location-specific. Finally, I have always been interested in expanding my mathematical skills with difficult problems and other tools. I have accordingly included references to puzzle and math competition sites. Many of these sites are accessible to any mathematics student, and most will help to broaden those students' mathematical thinking.
